Home Sweet Home

The moth landed on the tree and thoughthe had found home.

We don’t know how sentient a moth is, but he may have felt that, well, in his way. His world was solid and unchanging. Just what he needs for his long life of twenty four hours. Life is pretty simple – Immediately after emerging from the pupa moths mate, lay eggs and die.

We know, that trees do definitely change. They grow larger, sometimes opening up deep crevices, they splinter, fall over. The moth does not know because that is not his or her experience.

Our understanding of our environment is limited by the information we receive, what we have been told to believe, our experience in that environment and the limits to our ability to see it differently. The moth will never see it differently.

Are we just moths that live longer?

Think About It.
